Organic certification is a process-based quality initiative by which each farm-land is inspected and audited every year to ensure farming is done based on a set of standards and practices.
In India, organic certification requires three to four years and the land is registered for certification with APEDA accredited certification agencies (Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority, Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of India).
SusAgri follows Small Holders’ Group Certification, whereby farmers’ group are managed through ICS (Internal Control System). ICS registers each farmer’s details including the Global Positioning System (GPS) reading, ensuring 100% traceability. Each data is available in Tracenet through which Certification Bodies (CBs) and authorities can access, monitor, and audit each farmer.
Our projects are certified as per the NPOP (National Programme for Organic Production, India), USDA-NOP (National Organic Program, USA) and European Union (EU) Organic Standards.
